Is from a large hoarding case in the Beaumont area. Another farm sanctuary was able to step in and took in 75 pigs and got them all adopted out! Scully came with her two brothers Moulder and Tubs in March of 2022. Scully is the leader of the pack! She is brave and knows exactly what she wants and doesn’t want (yes please cut her strawberries if they are cold, and she will say no to broccoli). You can usually find her under the date tree with her two boys – or napping under the pine trees!
Is another pig from the hoarding case. He’s also the biggest one of the group! He’s such a loveable, easy-going guy. He doesn’t like fast movements and loves a good butt rub! He will politely refuse any cabbage from you but will run with his watermelon into his favorite mud pit to eat and cool off!
Is our last pig from the hoarding case! He’s the mama’s boy out of the group and loves to get kisses and belly rubs from her! He’s usually with his siblings Tubs and Scully but sometimes he needs his own space and will go off on his own for treats and naps! Once he gets to know you, he will follow you for belly rubs, but can be very shy at first.
Layla came to us in May of 2022 at 8 weeks old. She was brought into the shelter on her first day of life with no siblings or a mother so a local cat rescue took her in and bottle fed her to health till we were ready to take her in! Layla has a very strong voice and knows exactly what she wants and doesn’t want and boy will she let you know! She is currently an inside/outside pig. She loves to sleep next to her human mom or in our family room. Her best friend is our dog, Jeff Spicoli.
A Great Pyrenees and he came to us in about August 2022. Jeff was found roaming the streets by another sanctuary, so we took him in. Jeff is a big boy at about 120 lbs and is still growing. He has a lot of energy and loves to go on walks and work on his agility course. Jeff loves when Layla comes to play or nap with him!
Phoebe is a Boar goat. Phoebe came to us in April 2022. Phoebe was being sold at a swap meet for someone to raise her for meat, which is typically done around 7 months of age. Phoebe was about 2 weeks old when she made her way to the Sanctuary. Phoebe loves to talk, run and eat Mulberry and rose leaves and loves to hang out with her human mom. Her favorite fruit is watermelon.
Monica, Chandler & Rachel: These three came to us as a group. Monica and Chandler grew up together as babies and Rachel was found roaming the streets and was at a local shelter. Monica and Chandler were with older goats that liked to pick on them so we thought they would be perfect for Laster Ranch.
Chandler is currently the Mayor of Goat Ville and Monica is his better half. Monica refuses to eat any fruits of vegetables off the ground and prefers to be hand fed. Rachel is on the shy side but is obsessed with her best friend Phoebe.
These beautiful beings came to us in June of 2022. They were used at home in LA as fighting chickens and roosters and came to us pretty beat up so they don’t love people given their past but they will accept treats from you! Stan keeps his ladies safe and always makes sure they eat first and is such a gentleman!
Smokey and Teddy came to us directly from a Local Kill Shelter. They only had days left, we had room so we said yes that they could live here while we found them their forever homes. They were found separately wandering the streets of Riverside but became brothers as soon as we put them together. Teddy looks to be under 2 years, and smokey is probably a little older at 5 years. So they have a very big brother and little brother relationship. Once they were out of quarantine they did so well with our animals that we knew they had to stay! Teddy will follow you around all day in hopes of extra treats or a belly rub. Smokey is either hanging with the 3 OG pigs or looking for treats from mom! They are some of the sweetest pigs we’ve ever met!
