Gyros
Ingredients
- 1 box Seitan in chunks, thinly sliced
- Vegan sour cream (see notes) or vegan unsweetened yogurt
- 1 Cucumber half thinly sliced, the other half shredded
- 1/4 cup Red wine Vinegar
- 1 Tomato, thinly sliced
- 1/2 Red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 Lemon
- 2 tbsp Ras el hanout seasoning (see notes)
- 2-4 Any type of flat bread, or pita pocket
- French Fries (optional)
- Hummus (optional)
Instructions
- Thinly slice seitan
- Add your thinly sliced cucumber to your red wine vinegar and let sit
- Put sour cream or yogurt into a bowl and squeeze half a lemon into it, add shredded cucumber and a dash of salt.
- Heat oil in pan, add seitan and cook until it starts to get a little crispy, now add your ras el hanout seasoning and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant
- Heat your flat bread in the oven or on top of the stove.
Assembly
- Grab your warmed pita pocket, add your vegan sour cream, add hummus if you have it but it's not needed, add marinated cucumber, cooked seitan, red onion, tomato and fries if you have them and enjoy!
